It's been almost two months since Zayn Malik's shock exit from One Direction, and while the band seem set on continuing as a foursome, many have have still been waiting for an explanation for Zayn's decision to quit the group.

Many speculated that his relationship with Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards was one of the main reasons he said goodbye to the band, especially given the fact that Zayn had abandoned the 1D world tour to fly home to the UK to Perrie following allegations he had cheated on her with a fan in Thailand.

Now, Zayn's former bandmate Liam Payne has confirmed that Perrie did indeed have a lot to do with Zayn's decision.

"Sometimes you have to move on because you're not enjoying what you're doing as much as you used to," Liam told London's Capital Radio this morning.

"He wanted to spend time with his family and his missus. That's cool with us."

In an official statement back in March, Zayn said he simply wanted "to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight."

Since leaving the band, Zayn and his fiancée Perrie seem closer than ever, sharing lots of happy snaps and funny videos with fans via Instagram:

Our favourite boy band have come together for the first time since Zayn Malik's departure to share their feelings with their fans.

One Direction appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden last night and we have finally gained an insight into their side of the story.

After James asked Liam how he felt when Zayn left the group, he responded by saying: "Well I mean, you know, it's like anything, at first we were a little bit angry, obviously we were surprised, but we all kind of knew the general vibe that Zayn was feeling."

He then went on to say after anger they just felt disappointed.

However, the band aren't criticising Zayn's decision, Liam said: "There were certain parts of the job that Zayn loved and certain parts that he didn't, and if you don't like your job you've got to follow your heart sometimes and go where you need to go. There's no arguing with that."

Well said Liam. 

Louis has also opened up about the heated Twitter feud and after admitting he has never been one to bite his tongue, he said: "It's all resolved, all good in the hood, James."

The band said they never considered calling it a day after Zayn left and Niall expressed their love for the job and excitement of what is to come in the future.

Zayn Malik's bestie has opened up about the former One Direction member. 

On a teaser video for an episode Celebrity Juice, Naughty Boy said has spoken about Zayn's decision to leave One Direction.

''Zayn's in a great place. Zayn left for his own personal reasons and one day people will know everything … and right now is not the time.''

In the clip, cheeky Jimmy Bullard brings up quite an awkward topic as he tells Naughty Boy: ''Guess who my friend is? Louis."

The producer simply responded with: ''Oh right, here we go.''

Surprisingly, he went on to say it was all "just banter".

The episode airs tonight and is Naughty Boy's first public appearance since his famous Twitter argument with Louis Tomlinson.

The pair were involved in a heated argument after a sly dig was posted about the producer and his partner in crime, Zayn.

​They were quick to defend themselves against Louis which caused even more tension.

Things have since died down, but we bet we haven't seen the end of this feud.

It looks like tensions are still running high between One Direction's Louis Tomlinson and producer Naughty Boy. 

Just when we thought the feud had began to settle, Naughty Boy started it up again and Louis did not choose to stay completely quiet. 

During an interview with the Sun, Naughty Boy slammed Louis by calling him a child. 

"Louis needs to shut his mouth. He is just a child," he said.

The producer then added: "He's messing with a sleeping lion and you shouldn't have woken up a sleeping lion, you are going to regret it," before defending Zayn and his five years of loyalty to the band. 

Louis then responded with a quick, not-so-subtle tweet: "Roar hahahaha !", more than likely referring to Naughty Boy's sleeping lion comment.

Fans were quick to catch on to the hint, but there has been no obvious angry words from Naughty Boy or Zayn Malik just yet, apart from Naughty Boy tweeting: "absence makes the fear grow stronger," which may not even be about Louis. 

Problems began between the pair when Naughty Boy released apparent new music by Zayn, after Zayn's shock departure from One Direction in March, this has been followed by numerous Twitter bickers. 

Zayn left the band to have a normal life and has since become very close with Naughty Boy, leading to bad feelings between him and Louis.

Uh-oh! Yet another One Direction argument has surfaced, but this time, Zayn Malik isn't directly involved.

Harry Styles has been giving Louis Tomlinson the cold shoulder after his recent Twitter fight with Zayn Malik and Naughty Boy. 

Harry believes that by lashing out at Zayn and Naughty Boy, the band now has a damaged reputation. 

"Harry is very aware of 1D's reputation and doesn't like getting into any public scrapes, especially with other members of the band," a source said.

They continued: "It's fair to say his relationship with Louis has been strained for some time and the last couple of weeks hasn't helped matters."

However, another source told Mirror Celebs: "Harry and Louis are working together in the studio in Los Angeles on 1D's next album. They're fine."

Phew! 

This was all caused by Louis making fun of Zayn and Naughty Boy on Twitter and Zayn responding.

Will the band ever recover from this?

Zayn made the shock decision to leave One Direction in March, claiming that he wanted a normal life.

Two of our favourite heartthrobs took to Twitter yesterday to express their current feelings for each other, and while it broke our One Direction loving hearts, we couldn't look away…

Zayn Malik faced backlash from One Direction fans by saying "@Louis_Tomlinson remember when you had a life and stopped making bitchy comments about mine?" because Louis had put up an indirect tweet about Zayn and Naughty Boy.

It's all very dramatic and during all the chaos, Zayn was quickly losing followers, similarly to how he did when he released music with Naughty Boy and lost a whopping 50,000 followers. 

Earlier today, Zayn took to Twitter once again, but this time to address his fans rather than argue with Louis. 

We're sure Zayn didn't mean to upset any of his fans and was in fact just caught up in the moment. 

We hope this feud ends soon and the pair get the bromance back ASAP.

Out of all the difficult moments to come out of Zayn leaving One Direction, this has got to be one of the worst. 

Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson seem to be taking swipes at each other on Twitter.

Earlier today, Naughty Boy posted an edited snap of himself and Zayn, along with the caption "Replace this." 

This angered One Direction's huge following as fans believed this was a dig at the band. 

Louis then put up a, erm, not so subtle tweet in response to Naughty Boy's snap. 

He said: “Remember when you were 12 and you used to think those Mac filters for your pictures were cool haha ! Some people still do HA!”

If this wasn't heartbreaking enough to hear, Zayn then tweeted: "@Louis_Tomlinson remember when you had a life and stopped making bitchy comments about mine?"

Naught Boy then retweeted Zayn's tweet, eeeek…

How can we be expected to take sides here, it's just not possible…

Fans are now angry at Zayn and many have lost respect for him for saying that to Louis when they spent five years in One Direction together.

Oh dear…

Zayn left One Direction this year to live a normal life but has been spending a lot of time with producer, Naughty Boy. He is set to wed Perrie Edwards this summer after rumours surfaced about him cheating on her while on tour.

Zayn Malik's sister, Doniya Malik, has given her first ever interview. 

She spoke to the BBC Asian Network about Zayn and his partner, Perrie Edwards. 

While talking about Perrie becoming her sister-in-law, Doniya said: "It's pretty cool. Perrie's a really nice girl, she's really friendly, very easy to get on with, down-to-earth, so I'd say just how it is with my sisters."

She spoke about what life was like growing up with the ex-One Direction member: "Because me and Zayn are very close in age, we've grown up together. Actually he bosses me around, he acts like a big protective brother which is quite nice at times."

"He was quite spoilt growing up, but I'd say I was actually more spoilt than Zayn because I was the first grand child," she added.

She described Zayn's X Factor experience as "surreal" and "weird" and went on to admit that Liam is her favourite One Direction member (apart from Zayn when he was there of course).

Zayn left One Direction earlier this year and is set to marry Perrie during the summer.

Zayn Malik may have quit One Direction over a month ago, but yesterday he made one final move to cut ties with the band.

Keen-eyed fans noticed that Zayn's Twitter handle had finally changed from @ZaynMalik1D to @ZaynMalik, after almost five years on the social media site. The singer's long-time bio, "just close your eyes and enjoy the rollercoaster that is life 🙂 x" was also removed, along with a link to the One Direction website.

It's finally over, ladies.

While we appreciate that Zayn is probably just doing his best to move on and live his life as the "normal 22-year-old" he wants to be, the move did not go down well with 1D fans, who took to Twitter in their droves:

Zayn officially quit One Direction at the end of March, just days after pulling out of the band's world tour and flying home from Asia to the UK. Many have speculated that his decision to quit the tour was influenced by his fiancée Perrie Edwards, after Zayn allegedly cheated on her with a fan in Thailand.

However in Zayn's statement, he said his choice was driven by the need to take some time out of the spotlight. "I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight," he said.

Still reeling from the news that One Direction is now a foursome? Devastated that Zayn chose Perrie over you? Well, we may be able to offer some comfort.

Renowned physicist Professor Stephen Hawking spoke at the Sydney Opera House over the weekend, appearing by 3D hologram on Saturday night from his actual location at Cambridge University in England.

If that wasn't cool enough, Professor Hawking answered some pretty unexpected questions. As well as  discussing the mysteries of the cosmos and the future of Planet Earth (standard), the physicist also made some very interesting points about Zayn Malik's recent shock departure from One Direction.

Zayn quit the band last month, and flew home to the UK to make peace with his fiancée Perrie following allegations he had cheated on her during the Asian leg of the One Direction world tour earlier this year.

An attendee at Professor Hawking's event on Saturday night finally broached the one thing we've all been wondering about, asking, "What is the cosmological effect of Zayn leaving One Direction and consequently breaking the hearts of millions of teenage girls across the world?” 

"Finally, a question about something important,” responded the Professor. 

“My advice to any heartbroken young girl is to pay close attention to the study of theoretical physics. Because one day there may well be proof of multiple universes. It would not be beyond the realms of possibility that somewhere outside of our own universe lies another different universe. And in that universe, Zayn is still in One Direction.”

To really spice things up, Professor Hawking added, "This girl may like to know that in another possible universe, she and Zayn are happily married."

WOW. Right, we're off to swot up on theoretical physics, so…

When you look at One Direction you may think they're the band that have it all, but in fact, that is not the case.

Former JLS member Oritsé Williams has revealed that Zayn appeared to be unhappy in the band since over six months ago. And if that isn't bad enough, he has said that Niall Horan felt the same way.

He met the One Direction members on a trip to Las Vegas last September and had a personal chat with Zayn.

Oritsé said: "Zayn spoke to me when we were in Vegas together last year." 

Apparently, Zayn explained how he was no longer enjoying the experience and wanted to go his own way in life. 

He then added: "Niall did too. Zayn was talking to me in confidence. I told him he had a great run and to enjoy it. They are very, very blessed guys." 

"It’s a very special thing and not a lot of artists show gratitude for that. But I told him to be himself and to keep going." Awww, Oritsé, how sweet.

Several days ago we thought Harry Styles would be the next to walk, but now that this news has come out about Niall, we aren't so sure anymore.

As heartbreaking as it is for all the fans, at least Zayn is happier now. Is this the beginning of the end of One Direction?

Zayn Malik has taken to Twitter for the first time since having to address the infamous cheating rumours. 

Luckily, this tweet was much more light hearted and relaxed than the last one.

He said: "Wanna say thanks to everyone that's been there for me over the last few weeks, love you all…you know who you are x"

Things have been looking up for Zayn the past while. He won an award on Friday at London's Annual Asian Awards where he shocked fans with a new haircut.  

He then thanked "four of the best guys" he's ever met, referring to his former One Direction band mates.

He has said to be "doing alright" while living a quieter life outside of the One Direction spotlight. 

He has also been spending a lot of time with producer Naughty Boy, and wants to launch a solo career.

Before this, Zayn was on a rocky path as cheating rumours surfaced about a mysterious girl in Thailand and he announced that he was leaving One Direction.

We hope he keeps up the tweets!
