Taylor is NOT happy with people dissing her new S&M look
Since debuting her Bad Blood video with a LOT of leather and PVC outfits, Taylor Swift seems to have been embracing the kinkier side of fashion.
She's usually known for her preppy skirts and tiny sweaters, but earlier this week the singer was spotted out and about in Los Angeles wearing an altogether more inventive piece – a leather harness from US label Free People.
The feisty accessory has been huge on the catwalks of late – Alexander McQueen put out a whole range of S&M style looks at his Paris show earlier this year – but it's definitely a big change for Taylor.
As expected, the internet went crazy, although the reaction wasn't entirely positive, which seemed to annoy poor Tay-Tay a bit. After all, she's used to fans fawning over every outfit choice. In this case though, some eagle-eyed fashionistas noticed that the Shake It Off singer seemed to be wearing her S&M-style harness backwards.
Awks.
When the faux-pas was mentioned on Tumblr, Taylor was quick to respond, writing #THAT ISN'T THE SAME ONE BTW #AND IT'S NOT BACKWARDS #CHECK FREE PEOPLE DOT COM BYE
What the singer didn't realise though, was that the Free People harness is a knock-off of a high-end version by New York designer Zana Bayne, and it was most definitely designed by Zana to be worn the other way around:
Ah.
Never one to apologise for a fashion mix-up, Taylor instead proposed another use for her harness… a spot of rock-climbing.
"I think you’re ignoring a really important point here… That my harness and I are always ready for a zip line/rock climbing," the singer wrote on Tumblr.
"Ask yourself.. Are you ready for extreme adventure should it present itself? HARNESS LIFE 2015."
Not the best comeback in the world, but we'll take it.
