The celebs for this year’s Dancing With the Stars have been revealed
There has been major speculation surrounding this year's season of RTE's Dancing With the Stars, but any rumours can now be put safely to bed.
The line up has now been revealed, and some of Ireland's best talents in modelling, sport and comedy will be doing the tango for Irish audiences.
First up is Miss Ireland 2013 winner Aoife Walsh.
Since her pageant win, the model-turned blogger has enjoyed major success, amassing over 25,000 followers on Instagram and walking in New York Fashion Week.
Joining Aoife is another Irish beauty, Anna Geary, Cork's All-Ireland winning camogie captain and former Rose of Tralee.
'While I come from competitive sport, this is a totally different type of competition,' said the all-star athlete.
'I’m completely taking myself out of my comfort zone as I’m swapping my football boots for dancing shoes.'
Newly crowned Athlete of the Year Rob Heffernan will be angling for the crown.
The Olympic medallist and author will definitely be using his athletic abilities to compete for the ultimate title.
Keeping with the sporting heroes, Grand Slam winning scrum-half and former Munster rugby player Tomás O’Leary is taking on the competition.
Musician Jake Carter, brother of Nathan Carter, will also be joining the DWTS crew.
'It’s a huge opportunity – who wouldn’t want to learn how to dance?' he said of the show.
Joining them is Erin McGregor, sister of MMA icon Conor McGregor.
The fitness model admitted that she was nervous about the competition, saying:
'I’m feeling nervous – I’m bricking it, I’m actually bricking it – it really is nerve wrecking.'
Businesswoman Norah Casey will be joining Erin on the show and putting her entrepreneurial skills to the test learning the new moves.
GAA Correspondent and commentator Marty Morrissey will be on the couch with Ryan Tubridy this evening to confirm his participation on the show.
Broadcaster and author Maia Dunphy also confirmed that she will be taking part via Instagram yesterday.
Rounding off the line up is actor and comedian Deirdre O’Kane and fellow comedian and broadcaster Bernard O’Shea.
Both comedic veterans confirmed their participation during the week.
