A Gossip Girl/OC baby! Leighton and Adam welcome first child

Huge congrats are in order this evening, as its been revealed that Leighton Meester and Adam Brody are the proud parents of a new baby.

The couple, who rose to fame on separate teen TV dramas, reportedly welcomed their first child last week.

However they've elected to keep all details of their baby's birth private, so that's all we're getting for now.

In a similar vein to Leighton's Gossip Girl co-star Blake Lively, the proud parents have yet to reveal a name (or even a gender) for their first child.

News of Leighton and Adam's pregnancy first went public back in March. While there was no official pregnancy announcement, pictures of the actress out and about with a large baby bump certainly made things clear:

The couple first met on the set of their 2011 film The Oranges, and married in a secret ceremony last year.

Speaking in an interview last year, Leighton strongly hinted that she was ready to start a family with her new husband, saying a lot of her friends were at that time in their lives too,

"Most people I know are starting to get married," she admitted in Nylon magazine.

"It'll be kids next. I like the grown-up stuff. I like having a house. I've got dogs."

We cannot WAIT to see the first pictures of Baby Brody-Meester… though we seriously hope he/she doesn't get saddled with that surname.
