There is some very exciting news for Jennifer Aniston today!
Jennifer Aniston hasn’t won a Golden Globe Award since 2003, for her role as Rachel in Friends – well-deserved, we can all agree.
That’s why she is no doubt over the moon with today’s news that she has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her role as Claire Simmons in Cake.
Though she is up against some stiff competition, including Rosamund Pike for her role as Amy Elliot Dunne in the acclaimed Gone Girl and Reese Witherspoon in Wild, we are rooting for Jen to take home the prize!
Other nominations for the awards show include Benedict Cumberbatch, up against Jake Gyllenhall, Eddie Redmayne, Steve Carrell and David Oyelowo, for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama.
Movies up for a Golden Globe include Boyhood, Foxcatcher, The Imitation Game, Selma and The Theory of Everything in the Drama section, while Birdman, Grand Budapest Hotel, Into The Woods, Pride and St. Vincent are up for a musical or comedy Golden Globe.
In the TV world, Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, House of Cards, The Affair and The Good Wife battle it out for Best Television Series, Drama, while Orange Is The New Black, Girls, Jane The Virgin, Silicon Valley and Transparent all feature in the comedy nominations.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be returning to their roles of hosts for the awards show, which will air on January 25th, 2015 – we cannot wait!
