Dublin is getting a new hipster bar, with an eyebrow raising name

For any Dubliners out there in dire need of a new haunt, you’re fears are needless.

There is soon to be a new bar in the capital for all of your socialising needs. Due to open in the coming weeks apparently, this place isn’t going to be your usual run of the mill affair. In fact, the name of the pub itself is causing more than a few eyebrows to raise.

Have you heard it yet? Well, if you haven’t then you better get used to it:

According to Publin it is described as a “hip new buzz bar” Porndog is supposedly going to be opening their doors on Harcourt Street over the coming weeks.

Not to be confused for a rather unfortunate autocorrect, the name is actually the name. Sure why not?

According to their Facebook page they are due to open their doors at the end of this month. They are also looking for employees.

Do you or someone you know have experience in vegetable pickling or sausage making? If you do, then you know where to bring your CV.

“PORNDOG is looking for chefs with an interested or skill set in classic methods, such as in house sausage making, curing & smoking – creating suitable spice blends. Vegetable pickling, fermenting & preserving (eg. Sauerkraut, kimchi, gherkins).”

We feel certain there is going to be more than a few questions to be raised about how the name for this place came about. We think we’d rather wait and ask at the bar instead of taking the risk of entering that phrase into any search engines….
