Tiny fighters, big support with Pampers’ continued commitment to Ireland’s preterm babies
This World Prematurity Day (November 17th), Pampers is highlighting its continued dedication to supporting the 4,500 premature babies born in Ireland every year. Premature babies face unique challenges, including having skin that is twice as thin as full-term babies, making it highly sensitive yet deeply in need of touch for essential bonding and development.
The Importance of Touch for Preterm Babies
Touch is one of the first senses to develop and plays a critical role in a baby’s growth, boosting levels of oxytocin—often called the "bonding hormone." However, 82% of parents of preterm babies report feeling nervous about touching their babies in neonatal care, often due to fears about their fragile skin. Pampers aims to ease these concerns by empowering parents to confidently create these precious bonding moments.

Supporting Irish Hospitals Since 2017
