Titanic is being shown at these five Irish cinemas later this month

Tissues at the ready guys – Titanic is returning to Irish cinemas.

The Oscar winning film will celebrate its 20th anniversary later this month and in honour of this milestone, Odeon cinemas are bringing the classic love story back for one night only.

James Cameron's blockbuster starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio broke every record in the book when it was released in 1997, and while it remains a Christmas Day tradition in households across the country, many of us have never had the chance to watch the dramatic scenes play out on the big screen.

Odeon's branches in Blanchardstown, Charlestown, Coolock, Stillorgan and The Point will host the throw back to trump all throw backs on Thursday August 17, and according to the cinema's official Twitter account, you and a friend can get tickets for FREE.

It's not clear yet whether tickets will go on general sale, but make sure to keep an eye on social media for any updates.

Meanwhile, James Cameron has revealed that he is teaming up with National Geographic to create a new documentary titles, Titanic: 20th Anniversary.

The documentary will reportedly focus on the director's life while he was creating the film and will discuss the critical decisions he had to make while working on it.
