‘Toxic relationship’: Kim Cattrall questions how ‘nice’ SJP really is
For as long as Sex and the City has been on air (and for the 13 years that has followed its small-screen conclusion), Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker have been plagued with rumours regarding their relationship.
And ever since the first rumour began circulating back in 1998, the two ladies have been at pains to stress the inaccuracy of reports which suggested there existed ill will between the pair.
However, it looks like it's finally all come to a head this week, following KIm Cattrall's appearance on Piers Morgan Life Stories.
While the 61-year-old actress has always taken a diplomatic stance on her history with her co-star, it appears that recent press regarding Sex and the City 3 has forced Kim into a position where she felt compelled to speak out against SJP.
According to recent reports. Kim was the reason for the cancellation of the third SATC film – an accusation she takes very personally.
"Reflecting on the accusations, Kim told Piers: "It’s quite extraordinary to get any kind of negative press about something that I’ve been saying for almost a year of ‘no’ that I’m demanding or a diva."
"I never asked for any money, I never asked for any projects, to be thought of as some kind of diva is absolutely ridiculous."
And she doesn't stop there.
Focussing her attention on Sarah Jessica, Kim suggested that her former co-star could have reacted more positively towards her decision not to take part.
"And this is really where I take to task the people from Sex And The City and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker in that I think she could have been nicer," Kim revealed. "I really think she could have been nicer."
Shining a light on a relationship the press have, for years, attempted to dissect, Kim revealed that it's far from functional.
"Usually what happens in a healthy relationship is that someone, or a transaction for a job in my business, is that someone says, ‘Are you available?’ and you say ‘Yes’ and here’s the job and you say ‘Yes, but thank you very much but I’m sort of over here right now but thank you very much,’ and that person turns to you, and they say ‘That’s great, good luck to you, I wish you the best.’"
"That’s not what happened here, this is, it feels like a toxic relationship," she opined.
We can only imagine SJP's reaction to Kim's interview.
