"I got to the point where I was even counting how many blueberries I ate for breakfast. I got to the point where I looked quite ill when I was at my lowest.”
She says she was “a complete obsessive”. She also came to resent how much of a toll her new lifestyle was talking on her social life.
At one point she had gone from 12 stone to 8 stone 4 pounds. Vicky said that at her lowest weight she was actually quite unhappy and realised she had taken things too far.
“I realised how much I missed going out. I missed my friends, going out to eat, going to Nandos. And I realised I could do without training three times a day.”
She said that she’s “just a normal person” and couldn’t continue with her strict lifestyle forever.
"Now, I'm a firm believer in everything in moderation. Life is for living," she stressed.
Now Vicky isn’t afraid to indulge from time to time, she says that Saturdays and Sundays are for pizzas or takeaways.
After speaking with countless nutritionists Vicky became a “guinea pig” for a new brand of supplements, Mini V Nutrition. Not only is she now the face of the brand but she also co-owns the company.
She warns people to beware of dangerous supplements if they’re considering adopting a healthier lifestyle or embarking on a fitness journey:
"There are some supplements out there that can be really dangerous – I know because a friend of mine now has an irregular heartbeat as a result.
Please do not buy random products off of the Internet that are not regulated because your health is at risk.”
