Vintage Tea Party at the Beacon Hotel

Delicious miniature desserts; classic sandwiches, and scrumptious home-made scones garnished with prawns and Marie Rose sauce – all served, of course, with a choice of tea or coffee.
Yes, it’s safe to the say that SHEmazing! had a seriously scrumptious time at the Beacon Hotel in Sandyford’s Vintage Tea Party.

Better still, we were treated not only to a feast of sambos and desserts, but also to a makeup master-class, dinner in the award-winning My Thai restaurant, a bed for the night, AND breakfast the next morning. Hurrah!

To keep us looking pretty, the super-talented mother-and-daughter duo from the Beauty Team Studio took everyone back in time with a makeup and fashion through the ages rundown. One lucky lady was plucked from the crowd too for a full vintage makeover – resulting in gorgeous smokey eyes, wing liner, and a statement red lip. Perfection!

After a quick cat-nap (don’t judge us, we need our beauty-sleep) in the spacious, crisp white bed that was ours for the evening, the gaggle of invitees made their way to the simply divine My Thai restaurant to enjoy a two-course meal. On offer were the likes of grilled chicken marinated in 65 spices, and Thai chilli mussels in garlic and ginger to start. Mains included grilled sea bass with red and green peppers and topped with grilled shrimp, as well as spicy lamb curry flavoured with bay leaf and cinnamon, and finished with pineapple and potatoes.Equally impressive were the waiting staff, who went above-and-beyond to ensure everyone enjoyed their dining experience.

With our bellies full, we moved to the trendy Crystal Bar for cocktails. We opted for strawberry daiquiris served over crushed ice – delightfully refreshing and full of flavour.
Waking up the next morning in our deluxe bedroom, we tucked into a plentiful selection of breakfast delights: there was a full fry fit for a queen along with exotic fruit, orange juice, and hot chocolate on the side. Frankly, we can’t think of a better way to start the day.

On reflection, we reckon the Vintage Tea Party experience is just about the perfect package for a birthday celebration, hen night, or simply a great girlie getaway. It definitely gets the SHEmazing! seal of approval.
