Wedding bells! Huge congrats are in order for Tom Daley today

Anyone reading the UK edition of The Times this morning got a nice surprise when they turned to the social pages.

Popular English diver (and total heartthrob) Tom Daley decided to announce his engagement news in a very subtle way – with a newspaper announcement.

21-year-old Tom and his boyfriend Dustin Lance Black have been together for two years, getting together shortly before Tom came out via YouTube in December 2013.

The announcement in this morning's Births, Marriages and Death section of The Times read: "The engagement is announced between Tom, son of Robert and Debra Daley of Plymouth, and Lance, son of Jeff Bisch of Philadelphia and Anne Bisch of Lake Providence."

In his emotional video revelation two years ago, Tom said he finally felt he had found someone special in Dustin. At 41 the Oscar-winning screenwriter is twenty years Tom's senior.

"'In spring this year my life changed massively when I met someone, and they make me feel so happy, so safe and everything just feels great," Tom told his fans via YouTube. 

"That someone is a guy… Of course I still fancy girls and right now I'm dating a guy and I couldn't be happier."

Speaking in an interview last year, Tom said it took him a long time to get comfortable with the idea of having a boyfriend.

"As the months have gone on I've felt more and more comfortable saying it and give me another year and I'll probably feel at my most comfortable but it's still weird," he admitted.

No details of Dustin's (or Tom's!) proposal have been revealed, but we're sure it was a beautiful moment.
