‘We’re in love’: Síle Seoige has announced the arrival of her baby

Last weekend, Síle Seoige shared a photo of her baby bump on Instagram, and alluded to the fact she was doing what every mum-to-be does in the final days of her pregnancy journey – playing the waiting game.

"Lazy Saturday vibes waiting for this little one to make an appearance!" the popular broadcaster wrote. "Due date just around the corner."

Earlier this week, Síle updated her followers on her progress by revealing that she felt compelled to increase her Raspberry Leaf Tea intake in the days leading up to her child's arrival, writing: "I've upgraded from the 30% Raspberry Leaf Tea to the 100%! Here's hoping! #BumpWatch."

And today, the 38-year-old has returned to Instagram to reveal that the wait is now over, and she is the proud mum of a baby boy named Cathal.

Sharing a touching snap of his hand wrapped around her finger, Síle wrote: "Feeling incredibly lucky, thankful & so so happy!"

"Our baby boy arrived safe & sound in the early hours of the 2nd of August and we're in love," she continued in a post which has been liked hundreds of times in the past hour.

"Thanks so much for all the messages…a lot of you had a feeling something was stirring!" she added.

Emblazoned across the tender image were the words: "Cathal said hello to his mommy and daddy on the 2nd of August, weighing in at 8 pounds 2 ounces. Life begins."

Síle and her partner Damian O'Farrell have been inundated with messages of support and congratulations following the announcement, with Anna Daly writing: "Gorgeous. Little boys are divine Sile."

"You have a life of love & affection (and noise!!) ahead of you," she added.

"Fantastic news. Congratulations! And welcome to the world baby Cathal," commented another fan of the star.
