Witness appeal issued as man in 80’s dies after Donegal collision
A man in his 80’s has tragically passed away following a road traffic collision.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision near Clonmany, Co.Donegal, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
The collision, which involved a van and a male pedestrian, occurred at approximately 18.20pm at Annagh on the R238. The pedestrian, aged in his 80s, was fatally injured as a result.
The local coroner was notified, and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination.
The road was closed for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and remained closed overnight. Local diversions have been in place for road users.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward with any information they may have.
Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
