Zayn FINALLY speaks out since leaving 1D

Zayn Malik has spoken out about his decision to leave One Direction.

In an interview with The Sun, done only six hours after the announcement was made, Zayn explained how we now feels in control of his life: “It is crazy and wild and a bit mad. But at the same time I’ve never felt more in control of my life.”

The singer, who first rose to fame through The X Factor wished his friends Louis, Niall, Liam and Harry all the best: “I feel like I’m doing what’s right – right by myself and right by the boys, so I feel good … They’ve always been really cool about it. And they understand that, you know, it’s not real to me anymore.”

While many fans have speculated that Zayn’s fiancée, Perrie Edwards was behind the split, Zayn says they are still very much together and she is supportive of his decision to leave the band: “Yeah, she’s always supportive. She’s always good man.”

Wow – so that’s it then, Zayn has finally spoken out.

We’re glad to hear he is still on good terms with the guys and that his relationship with Perrie is still on track.

After all, we still have a One Direction wedding to look forward to – even if Zayn isn’t even really in the band anymore!
